PNB opened its first currency chest at Jiribam

The Punjab National Bank (PNB), Jiribam Branch inaugurated the currency chest in Jiribam today.
The inaugural programme was held in presence of Md. Ashab Uddin, MLA Jiribam; W. Birendra Singh; LSDM Jiribam; Ksh. Ravikumar, Superintendent of Police, Jiribam; James Hangsing, ADC, Jiribam as a Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, and Special Guests respectively. 
In the welcome address, W. Birendra Singh mentioned the importance of opening a currency chest and its functions at Jiribam.
Speaking on the occasion, the local MLA of Jiribam Md. Ashab Uddin said that the erstwhile United Bank of India (UBI) had served the people of Jiribam for a long time. He added, that now many other financial institutions have opened which are the well beings of Jiribam. He also appealed to the people for their co-operation in the smooth functioning of the bank.
He said that opening a currency chest in PNB, Jiribam Branch helps the banks to meet the cash reserve ratio requirements to the clients and banks lined across Jiribam.
Ashab Uddin also appealed to the bank authority to open an ATM booth in some of the strategically important locations of Jiribam for easy access to the people of remote areas of Jiribam.
