Imphal, Sept 26:

The 46th Raising Day of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) was commemorated across multiple locations, including the General Headquarters, Tactical Command, Strategic Command, 252 Mobile Battalion, and other military units. The event honoured those who sacrificed their lives for the liberation movement, with attendees paying respects and offering floral tributes to the martyrs.
The ceremony began with a two-minute silence in remembrance of the fallen revolutionaries, followed by a display of festoons adorned with stars and the PLA’s iconic red star. The public also participated in the celebrations, which featured a flag salute, tributes to the martyrs, and the reading of a message from MM Ngouba, acting president of the Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF).
In his message, Acting President MM Ngouba called for unity among all communities that have coexisted for generations in the state, urging them to work together for collective prosperity. Senior party members and workers were honoured with gifts for their dedication.
At a separate event in Thoubal district, PLA Division-8 also observed the day, where the Acting President’s message was read to the attendees. On this anniversary, the RPF, the PLA’s political wing, reiterated their desire for unity among the indigenous people of Manipur and called for collaborative efforts toward the well-being of the people and the state.
