PLA and MNPF claim attack to 27 AR check post in Ukhrul district

Imphal, July 2:  Proscribed group People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and Manipur Naga People’s Front (MNPF) today claim attack to 27 Assam Rifles Check post ay Ramva in Lambui village of Ukhrul district at around 7.30 of June 30. An AR jawan was killed and another 2 injured in an IED blast on the day. A joint statement signed by Bangkim, Assistance Secretary, Publicity of Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) and Thomas Numai, Assistant Publicity Secretary, Manipur Naga People’s Front (MNPF) said that the two rebel group have been fighting against the repressive Indian force which has been creating enmity among the various ethnic people of the region. It said after Manipur was annexed by India in October 15, 1949, armed Indian security forces has been subjugating the people of both hill and valley under the shadow of various draconian laws. The Indian forces are spewing venom among the various ethnic community of the state from a very long time, it added. The statement further said that under the motto United we stand, divided we fall, the MNPF and the PLA, the armed wing of RPF has been working together since 2013 to wage war against the repressive regime. The statement said that in January and April of 2014 the MNPF and PLA jointly attack the 1/11 Gorkha and 25 Madras Regiment at Taikotag in Churachandpur district under Operation Leopard. In December 2014 an attack was carried out to AR troop at Bihang, at Khunmulian on December and at another AR troop at Hengsi on May under Operation Jackal.
