Tipaimukh MLA Ngursanglur Sanate, along with representatives of civil society organisations from Pherzawl and Jiribam districts, called on Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh today, seeking intervention on key developmental and administrative issues.
The delegation submitted a memorandum to the Governor at Lok Bhavan and later apprised the Chief Minister of concerns relating to road connectivity, electricity, banking facilities and the Pherzawl Autonomous District Council.
Among its major demands was the upgradation of the Jiribam–Tipaimukh road from district road status to National Highway status. The delegation said the road could provide an important link between NH-37 and NH-102 and improve connectivity between Jiribam, Tipaimukh and adjoining areas.
The delegation also sought implementation of the proposed power-line connection from Sipuikaun Power Station to Parbung and extension of electricity supply to other areas. It highlighted the absence of banking facilities and sought establishment of a bank in the area.
The representatives also conveyed public concerns regarding the establishment of the Pherzawl ADC.
Responding to the delegation, the Chief Minister said restoration of peace and stability should remain the priority for taking forward development and administrative processes. He assured them that the issues raised would be examined and necessary action taken.
The delegation included representatives of ITAC Pherzawl and Jiribam, Hmar Inpui Hmarram Region and Hmar Inpui Vangai Region.
