The Manipur Petroleum Dealers Fraternity has postponed its proposed shutdown of petrol pumps across the State, which was scheduled to begin on December 29, following a positive response from the government.
A representative of the fraternity stated that the government authorities have responded to the concerns raised by the dealers and have provided assurances regarding the issues highlighted by the fraternity. In view of the assurances received and considering the upcoming observance of Imoinu Irat Puja, Christmas Day, and other related events, the fraternity has decided to defer its agitation.
The representative added that the decision was taken in the larger public interest and with respect for the festive season, while allowing time for the government to act on its commitments. The fraternity, however, indicated that it would continue to closely monitor the situation and the steps taken by the authorities to address their demands.
