People of Pherzawl District Welcome Imphal-Pherzawl Express Bus Service

CCpur , June 27: The first Manipur State Transport bus which will ply between Imphal and Pherzawl was given a warm reception at Churachandpur ’s Bijang Transport Office yesterday at 9 am before departing for its final destination in the remote district headquarters of Pherzawl. The bus was flagged off by Chief Minister Biren Singh on June 25 along with other inter- district buses at the state capital Imphal. Local leaders led by Pherzawl District Development Committee held a short thanksgiving event in the presence of Pherzawl District Deputy Commissioner A.T ombikanta Singh. Hmar Christian Leaders’ Forum treasurer Rev . Lalsandam Songate dedicated the bus to the Almighty God. “W e sincerely appreciate the efforts of Chief Minister Biren Singh for taking a firm decision on restoring MST bus service in order to link all the district headquarters of the state. We also acknowledge the service of Thanlon MLA Vungzagin, Tipaimukh MLA Dr . Chaltonlien Amo and Pherzawl DC A. Tombikanta Singh”, said Rev . Lalsandam Songate. As a gesture of gratitude, Pherzawl DC and members of the PDDC were felicitated by Hmarveng Village Authority and members of HY A Hmarveng Branch. “Y our warm welcoming gesture shows how much people wanted to have the bus service restored by the state government. I thank you all on behalf of the government for organising this dedication and thanksgiving programme,” he told the PDDC and members of the public who gathered to witness the event. The event was attended by leaders of the PDDC, Kuki Inpi (Churachandpur), HSA Hqrs, HY A Hmarveng Branch,Kuki Student Organisation, Churachandpur ,Pherzawl District chiefs and Village Authority members from Khawmawi, Hmarveng and Sielmat. Former minister and NPP leader Ngursanglur (Adviser , PDDC) and Former Gen Secretary of Hmar Inpui Pu David Buhril were also present along with other social workers
