Pedestrian killed in biker’s roll-out, another injured

Imphal, Jan 2: A wild biker, hanging out after New Year party, rolls on his vehicle to two lady pedestrians killing one injuring another in critical condition. This is the first road accident of the year 2018 that killed a lady in Bishnupur district. The tragic accident occurred at around 7 pm yesterday.
Eye witness said that the a numberless motor bike (NS Pulsor) speeding from Bishnupur side hit the two ladies who were walking on the road side.  The two ladies – Thokchom(o) Tangnu (50) , wife of Thokchom Zila and Thiyam (o) Keina (65) wife of (late) Thokchom Ibocha both from Keinou Maning Leikai in Bishnupur district were immediately rushed to RIMS hospital but Thiyam (o) Keina succumbed to her injury at RIMS casualty ward. Thocjom (O) Tangnu is presently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The biker is identified as Leithangbam Sagar (20) son of Inaoton from Govindaram. He was reported drunk as he stated that he was returning after attending a New year Party at Bishnupur. Locals said that the motor bike have no registration number and the biker Sagar did not have any license or wear helmet.
Bishnupur Police had registered a case on the matter and the dead body has been deposited at RIMS morgue.
At another road accident, a person sustains serious head injury after he was hit by a speeding Maruti Van at Moirang Khunou Hougrampat area in Bishnupur district. The accident happened at around 9.30 pm yesterday. The injured has been identified as Lourembam Chaoba , son of (late) L. Mera  of the locality.
Earlier, on January 1, a car coming from Churachandpur met an accident at Maibam Lokpa Ching early hour and the driver of the car, hailing from CCPUR, reportedly shifted to nearby hospital.
