Imphal, Nov 4:

In response to the agitation held by the aggrieved employees of the institute November 2020 the Chairman and Director held a press conference the next day and several false statements against the staff. In clarification of the false statements alleged the employees of PDDUIAS.

A statement said that the salary was pending from July 2019 even before the pandemic, i.e. upto March 2020. The Last salary paid was for the month of June 2019. A detailed salary dispense table is being attached in Annexure 1. The Chairman, Shri Th. Chaoba Singh and Director, Dr. RK. Imotomba Singh is trying to suppress the real cause by making false allegations against the employees that the agitation was staged under the influence from some made-up outside forces, which is truly uncalled for. The Director should not create fear and division among the staff. The protest which was taken on that very day by the employees was a result of multiple false promises made by the Chairman and the Director. We, the employee community too have the same dedication to PDDUIAS as they have. All the employees continued to work despite extremely irregular salary payments. In media release Director again said he ‘will try’ to pay the pending salary. He has been trying to pay the salary since the last many months, yet never realised. We condemn these hollow promises. The Chairman and the Director are trying to shift blame on the Pandemic for non-payment of salary when payment of salary has been extremely irregular long before the lockdown due to their mismanagement. Even during the time when salary could not be paid, they continued to appoint new employees. Moreover, during recruitment huge sums were sought and taken in the name of welfare of the institute. Where has all those funds gone, when not utilized during these struggling times? We are simply demanding our rightful salary which has been denied for a long time which is against our right to live. We condemn the action of labelling us as being a maligned force to defame the institute and threatening of disciplinary actions. We condemn the statement made by Th Chaoba Singh labelling our plight for payment of salary as being a petty matter and accusing us of trying to destroy the Institute over this matter. The survival of the institute relies on the happiness of the employee.
