Pashel Vuncho Alum 2024, celebrating the origin of the Pashel clan, which is sub-clan of the Anal Naga community, was held on Wednesday in Anal Khullen village, Chandel district with great pomp and show.
Pashel clan is one of the founding clans of Anal Khullen village, which is one of the oldest Anal Naga villages dating back to 33 AD. Anal Khullen village is also famous for Anal Phetha Thumkhel who, according to myth, completed with Ibudou Wangbarel for Anal Shangnu.
The celebration began with the unveiling of the Pashel Vuncho monument by PS. Bemung, one of the oldest and an elder of the Pashel clan. The monument was then dedicated and blessed by Rev. Js. Shemwar, Pastor, Panchai Baptist Church.
The second session of the programme was held in the village community hall of Anal Khullen where PS. Nungjoy, President of the Pahrâng Pashel Chako family said that the day has been observed to recount the history of the Pashel clan and how they originated and played a role in founding Anal Khullen village.
As for the monument, PS. Nungjoy said that it will stand as a symbol for the future generation to the history of the Pahrâng Pashel clan.
As part of the celebration, a souvenir ‘Pashel Vuncho Alum 2024’ was released by Ps. Monihring, president of Anal Naga Tangpi (ANTA).
Cultural songs and stories marked the day as it came to an end with Akam Dâm (Anal Cultural Dance).
The event was also attended by Anallon Chief Association, heads of various clans of the Anal community including executive members of the Shello Chako.
