Imphal, May 21: Royal Riders Manipur (RRM) have organised one day spot painting and essay competition at Ima Khunthokhanbi, DM College Gate, Thangmeibandh, today. The competition is a part of the 9th Mahousa Ima Lairembi Ningsing Tha – 2017, a month long environmental campaign which is annually organised by RRM since 2009 with the objective of safe guarding trees and forests for a better environment.
 The month long environmental campaign of RRM is being organised under the theme “Connecting people to nature” of the month long world environment day celebration of United Nations (UN). In today’s competition around 260 students took part where 9 of them in essay competition and the rest in spot painting competition which is categorised as group A for class 3 to 5 and group B for class 6 to 8. Winner of the competition was also announced. For spot painting competition under category A for class 3 to 5, Moirangthem Thoithoiba, Class 5 of Regular English High School took the First Position, Juliana Thoidingjam, Class 5 of K.V. Lamphel took Second Position and Khusi Aheibam, Class 5 of K.V. Lamphel took Third Position. Tanushree Tongbram, Class 5 of Shishu Nistha Niketan; Kh Trishila, Class 5 of Maria Montessori; Malemnganbi Ningthoujam, Class 3 of Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School; Angelina Ningthoujam, Class 3 of Bal Vidyamandir Higher Secondary School and R.K. Nishikanta, Class 4 of Brighter Academy are selected for consolation prizes. Category B of spot painting competition for Class 6 to 8, Martin Tongbram, Class 6 of Pitambara English School took the First Position, Venish keisham, Class 8 of Pitambara English School took Second Position and Onia Konsam, Class 6 of Wnagkhei High School took the Third Position. L Rohit Singh, Class 8 of Don Bosco, Chingmeirong; Yumlembam Udoynanda, Class 8 of Tiny Tots’ Unique School; Moirangthem Bronson, Class 8 of Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School; Jessika Arambam, Class 8 of Shishu Nistha Nikitan and Ningthoujam Monish Singh, Class 8 of Heritage Convent School are also selected for consolation prizes of the category B. Lukanand Kshetrimayum of Maria Montessori, Sapam Jennifer of Tiny Tots’ Unique School and Lairenjam Leibaksana of Shishu Nistha Niketan took the First, Second and Third Position in the essay competition of today event.
