Dead body of Moirangthem Gopal, who was killed in provocative firing by unknown gunmen during a ritual procession at Aimol Shaitu Village at Pallel on the evening of May 6 has been accepted by the JAC following an agreement with the Chief Minister of Manipur. The indefinite general strike called for arrest and punishment of the culprits has also been called off. The dead body of Moirangthem Gopal was brought from the morgue with full honoured and paid rich floral tribute at the office of UKAL, Palace Compound. People coming at around 200 to 300 vehicles paid the floral tribute at the office of UKAL at around 2 pm today. Later the dead body was taken back at Pallel to perform the last rite.
