Imphal, March 6:
The Paite Tualai Pawl (PTP) has issued a stern warning against the Federation of Civil Society (FOCS) ahead of its proposed Peace Expedition scheduled tomorrow. In a press release, PTP welcomed FOCS with apparent hostility, stating that anyone stepping into Lamka should do so at their own risk and peril.
The statement, filled with strong rhetoric, declared that FOCS would be held responsible for any “unwanted eventuality” and emphasized that the Zosuan (Hmar-Zomi-Kuki-Mizo) people would defend Lamka at all costs.
PTP asserted that the Kuki-Zomi people have survived without any relationship with the Meitei community for over two years and questioned the necessity of their presence. While stating that a peaceful visit as a good neighbor would be welcomed, the statement warned that any attempt to challenge them would be met with “vengeance.”
The press note also accused the opposing side of committing grave atrocities, including the burning of churches, mass killings, rape, vandalism, and arson. It warned that if anyone believed the community had forgotten such acts, they should “step into Lamka and witness their fury.”
The release has raised concerns over escalating tensions, with security agencies closely monitoring the situation to prevent any potential unrest.
