Painting competition on ‘child labour’ organised

Imphal, July 20: Painting competition under the theme ‘child labour’ was organised today by All Indian Students’ Federation (ASIF) at five different places of the state. The competition was categorised into three sections; from std 1 to 3, 4 to 7 and 8 to 10.

Speaking with media persons, President, ASIF, Nongthoubam Sanahal said that the aim of organising such painting competitions is to inform to all that under Right to education Act 2009 no child under 14 years of age should be engaged in any kind labours. Education is important to every child hence spreading the information to all the painting competition was conducted today, added Sanaha.

The competition was participated by total no. of 510 students from different schools across the state. The five locations of the competition were Waikhom Mani Girl’s College, Thoubal, Kumbi Sandong Primary School, Kumbi, Regular High School, Kwakeithel, Popular Academy, Mayang Langjing and D.M. College of Commerce, Imphal.

Prizes of the winner will be distributed on August 12.
