Padma Shri Nameirakpam Kunjarani Devi retired yesterday from her service in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), having held the rank of Commandant. Today, she was formally escorted from the CRPF Langjing Achouba Group Centre to her residence by senior CRPF officers, including Anil Bhardwaj, DIG Langjing Achouba; IG M. Somorani, Deputy Commandant; along with Assistant Commandants, sepoys, jawans, and a band party.
During the farewell, her remarkable achievements in sports and service were acknowledged. Kunjarani Devi is a recipient of both the Padma Shri and the Arjuna Award from the Government of India.
Reflecting on her career, she encouraged the youth of Manipur to pursue sports for a better future. She recounted her own journey, beginning with hockey and football before excelling in weightlifting, which later facilitated her entry into the CRPF. She urged young people to remain focused on their goals, emphasizing that determination enables anyone to achieve success.
