Imphal, Jan 21:

More than 5000 young women embarked on a march organized by Nambol Apunba Leisabi from Nambol Sabal Leikai to the residence of local MLA and Education Minister Thounaojam Basantakumar Singh in Utlou, aiming to submit a memorandum. Despite their efforts, they discovered that the minister was unavailable at his residence.
In an attempt to address the concerns of the multitude, five representatives were carefully chosen from the sea of protesters to meet and submit the memorandum to the minister. However, to their dismay, the minister was conspicuously absent from his residence, sparking frustration among the protesters who had traversed a distance of over 3 kilometers on foot to convey their grievances.
The frustration of the young women escalated as they engaged in a verbal altercation with individuals who claimed the minister was unavailable and directed them to meet at Babupara. Their anger flared, questioning why the minister couldn’t meet them when over 5000 individuals had journeyed to his home within his own constituency.
During their march, their discontent found expression in a chorus of slogans echoing through the air, including “Long Live Manipur,” “Revoke Suspension of Operation with Kuki Militants,” and a call for the minister to fulfill his responsibilities, creating a powerful atmosphere of collective dissent.
As of the current update, the minister’s representatives have informed the protesters that the minister will be arriving, prompting them to wait at the Sports Authority of India ground. The impatient and irate demonstrators now eagerly await the minister’s presence.
