Over 10 houses gutted at Khoupum Bazar, no casualties

More than ten houses were completely destroyed in a major fire that broke out late Wednesday night at Khoupum Bazar under Khoupum Sub-Division in Noney district, according to an official report submitted by the Officer-in-Charge of Khoupum Police Station.
A report reaching here stated that the fire started at around 10:15 PM and rapidly spread across the locality, engulfing multiple residential structures.
Preliminary findings indicate that the fire is suspected to have originated from an electrical short circuit, though the exact cause is yet to be conclusively established.
A team from the Manipur Fire Service, Noney, rushed to the spot and undertook firefighting operations to bring the blaze under control. Local residents, including people from nearby villages, also joined efforts to douse the flames.
Despite the scale of destruction, no casualties have been reported so far. Authorities are continuing to assess the extent of damage while further investigation into the incident is underway.
