Session Judge Imphal East Maibam Manojkumar today sentenced 70 years old rape convict Kongjenbam Nipamacha to undergo rigorous imprisonment of 15 years along with a fine of 10 thousand rupees for committing crime of rape to a minor victim on August 22, 2015 evening.
Konjengbam Nipamacha of Heinoukhongnembi was convicted by the same court on October 7 under section 6 of POCSO Act for committing penetrative sexual act upon the minor victim
Court also recommended to provide Rs 5 lakhs compensation to the victim under Manipur Victim Compensation Scheme by the concern department.
On the other hand another rape accused Hemam Rajesh (28) S/O Kameshor of Moirang Konjengbam Leikai has been convicted by Session Judge Imphal West RK Memcha today under section 366 and 368 IPC and section 4 of POCSO Act.
The judgment order of the trail against the convict H Rajesh was announced in open court today and the sentence hearing of the convict has been fixed on October 17. The incident reportedly took place on April 6, 2016 evening.
