Today a One Day Awareness Program on the Government Social Welfare Schemes cum Sensitisation on Tele Law legal Service was held at multipurpose hall, Mini secretariat complex, Chandel. Today’s program was organised by the District Legal Services Authority, Chandel in collaboration with District Administration Chandel. The program was organised as a part of the Integrated Delivery of Legal Services (IDLS-DISHA Scheme) which is jointly implemented by DoJ, Government of India & NALSA.
Speaking on the occasion, SDO, Chakpikarong, Chirom Somorendro Singh, sighting the examples of the Chakpikarong Sub division, said that many people who are in real need of these government welfare schemes are not getting the benefits due to lack of awareness. He asked the Village Heads and the village authorities to help in creating awareness amongst the villagers and also appealed to the SDOs of other district for the same.
Member Secretary, CWC, Tengnoupal, Smt. Darngam Khaling spoke in length on the special welfare schemes of women and children. She also interacted with village Heads present in the function.
Retainer Lawyer, DLSA, Chandel, Jacky Lucy introduced the concept of Tele Law Legal Services. She explained in details about Tele Legal services and its benefits. Explaining the details of these services, she said that though these services had been in practice since some years in other part of the country it has been reintroduced in our state recently and urged the people to create awareness about these services so that people in need can take advantage of these services.
Today’s program was attended by the Village Heads of the district, DLOs and other stake holders.
The program ended by proposing a vote of thanks by the SDC Chandel Mothel Saka.
