Oinam bandh paralyzes traffic along Tiddim Road; agitators injured in scuffle with police

48 hours’ Bandh at Oinam today paralyzed vehicular movement along Tiddim Road at Oinam area. Number of agitators injured in scuffle with police while fifteen other agitators were picked up by police in order to control the situation.
The 48 hours long bandh was called by Oinam Tangleihada Okshoi Grazing Ground protesting against the allotment of 188.75 acres of land of 116 Samushang to the Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Department without the consent of the people of Oinam.
A large number of agitators came out to the streets and blocked the Tiddim Road at Oinam area. The agitators burnt tyres on the road and pile up logs.
As the situation worsened personnel of Bishnupur District Police Commando rushed the spot to control the situation. Police fired several tear gas shells. The agitators also pelted stone towards police.
At least three agitators have been injured in police action.
