Of the 66 private hospitals, 4 are recognized as referral hospital: Health Minister

Of the 66 private hospitals in the state of Manipur 4 have been graded as referral hospital. The was stated by Health and Family Welfare Minister Phungjathang Tonsing while giving written reply to a question asked by NCP MLA L. Ibomcha during the question hour today.
He said the four reference hospital are Shija Hospital and Research Centre, Langol, Imphal, Sky Hospital and Research Centre, RIMS Road, Imphal, Suba Hospital and assisted Reproductive Centre, Lamphel and Raj Medicity, North A.O.C. Imphal. These private hospitals are graded as Reference hospital as they have treatment facilities which are not available in the government run hospitals. They have been given recognisation as reference hospital after inspecting the infrastructures and super speciality facilities by the state government said Tonsing.
He further added that a total of 27 specialists/ Spuer Specialist doctors in these 4 private hospitals are recognized. Neurosurgeon Dr. Kh. Vyas and Neuro Surgeon Dr. Ch Gautam of Shija Hospital and Research Centre and Cardiologist Dr. L. Shyamkumar of Sky Hospital and research Centre were among them.
