Imphal, Dec 13: Numerologists believe that numbers play an important role in our lives, that if one is able to recognize the numbers success and failure could be controlled. It is also believed that famous politicians in the country have their own favourite astrologers from whom intending politicians and elected legislatures seek counsel for the most auspicious day to carry out their political wishes.
The two historic days that marked historic events in the country and the state of Manipur are the Prime Minister, Narendra Damodar Modi’s nationwide announcement to cease legal tender of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes from the midnight of November 8, 2016 and Chief Minister of Manipur, Okram Ibobi Singh’s historic declaration of forming 7 (seven) new districts on December 8, 2016 midnight. The two announcements- PM Modi’s demonetization and birth of 7 new districts- seem to have something to do with numerology.
Talking about the number 8- its meaning and qualities in numerology, it says that the number 8 is the great Karmic equalizer, a force that just as easily creates as it destroys. The number is as spiritual as it is materialistic. The spiritual side of the number 8 is practical, realistic and intelligent, while in materialistic meaning, 8 is focused on results and prosperity.
In the positive side, the number is associated with successful, realistic and business-minded powerful leaders who are balanced, capable and efficient as well as of good judgement. While, the dark side of the number and people associated with 8 is cruel, insensitive, violent, bullish and greedy.
PM Modi’s decision to pull up Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes from circulation invited country wide criticism and appreciation as well. Some welcomed it as a move to put an end to black money and terrorism, while those who are against it terms it as a ‘political move’ made without preparation.
Likewise, Chief Minister Ibobi-led state government’s declaration of creating new states received mixed responses. Some welcomed it while others stand against it stating the creation of 7 (seven) districts is the manifestation of the state government’s divide and rule policy among the ethnic groups in Manipur, not to mention the tag of an oppressive and communal one.
However, only time will unfold the secret and truth of PM Modi and CM Ibobi’s step taken to curb black money and the demand/counter-demand for revenue districts.
