The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has strongly condemned the alleged abduction and killing of six Naga men from Konsakhul Naga Village, describing the incident as a grave crime against humanity and demanding swift justice for the victims.
In a statement, the NSF expressed shock over the recovery of the victims’ mortal remains on June 10, nearly a month after they were reportedly abducted from Leilon Vaiphei Village on May 13. The Federation alleged that the men were kidnapped and killed by Kuki militants.
The NSF said the incident reflected the continuing culture of violence and impunity in Manipur and raised serious concerns over the failure of authorities to protect civilians and ensure accountability. It questioned how such a crime could occur despite the heavy deployment of security forces across the state.
Holding Kuki militant groups operating under the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement responsible for the killings, the Federation renewed its demand for the immediate abrogation of the SoO arrangement.
The NSF also called for an immediate, impartial and time-bound investigation into the incident and urged authorities to identify, arrest and prosecute all those involved.
Expressing solidarity with the bereaved families and the people of Konsakhul Naga Village, the Federation vowed to continue pursuing justice for the victims. The statement was jointly signed by NSF President Eno Mteisuding and General Secretary Kenilo Kent.
