NSCN-IM observes Naga Army Day

Imphal, Jan 3: The Naga Army Day was observed today at Hebron  (Nagaland) General Head-Quarters with Rh. Raising, convener, steering committee NSCN as the event’s chief guest.
Inno Hukavi Yepthomi, kilo kilonser and Lt. Gen. (Retd) NG Markson – VC, Keya Kilonser were the guest of honors .Many dignitaries both from the Civil and Army wing including Ape Venuh of the collective leadership attended the occasion. Lt Col. Pitovi, A.O. Chaplaincy, GHQ lead the opening prayer followed by a silent prayer in remembrance of all the Naga martyrs.
Rh. Raising in his speech stretched that the Naga Army is not only a military army but a political army and are Nazirites. Kilo kilonser Hukavi also emphasized that the Naga army is the backbone of the Government without which the government cannot function, he also asked the Naga Army who makes the National movement move forward to stand firm and to give their heart and soul for the national cause. Lt. Gen (Retd) NG. Markson former Longvibu of Naga Army who reinstituted the Naga Army Day back in 2007 talked about the importance of the Naga Army who, like a strong wall have stood firm to defend the Nation and its people. He also pointed out that the cease fire is the result of the fallen comrades who stood their ground for the cause of a free Naga nation.
Finally, the Longvibu, Anthony Ningkhan Shimray thanked all the dignitaries and members present at the occasion and reaffirmed that the Naga Army  are revolutionary soldiers, the changing force, the highway maker and the foundation of the Naga National Movement. He asked every Naga Army to be a soldier of Christ, to be an instrument to fulfill ones commitment and to remember the Oath of Allegiance to man and to God and to remain faithful to the national cause.
