A day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Nagaland NSCN-IM chairman Isak Chisi Swu and the outfit’s general secretary Th Muivah have arrived Dimapur from New Delhi.
Sources informed Newmai News Network that the two leaders will stay in Nagaland till January 2.
Interestingly, on Sunday, Narendra Modi will arrive in Dimapur on a two-day visit to Nagaland accompanied by Naga peace talk interlocutor RN Ravi. Two days ago there was a report saying RN Ravi was likely to meet Naga leaders in Dimapur.
Meanwhile, today’s arrival of Isak Chisi Swu and Thuingaleng Muivah in Dimapur carries a message of significance. When Narendra Modi addresses the Nagas in Kohima on Monday during The Hornbill Festival it is expected that the Prime Minister may give some hints on the line the Government of India and the NSCN-IM are working regarding the Naga political issue. It is also not clear if Swu and Muivah are invited to The Hornbill Festival.
Meanwhile, some sources said Narendra Modi and RN Ravi may also meet Isak Swu and Th Muivah in Dimapur on Sunday. However, this information is yet to be confirmed officially. (NNN)
