The Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP), Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim (GPRN), has clarified that the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) has no connection with the four individuals detained by Indian security forces during a search operation at Sharkaphung under Litan Police Station in Manipur on July 14.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the MIP said the organisation has no association with Wungphayo Kasar (24), A.S. Ninglum (29), Yaoreingam Lungleng (24), and Vareiyo Lungleng (56).
The statement asserted that none of the four are members, associates, or representatives of the NSCN-IM and urged the public not to link the organisation with the detainees.
The clarification follows public concern over the detention of the four Sharkaphung residents during the security operation. The MIP said the statement was issued to prevent misinformation and avoid any erroneous association between the organisation and the detained individuals.
