NSCN/GPRN rebuts KIM allegations, terms claims “baseless propaganda”

Hebron/ Ukhrul, June 6:
The Ministry of Information and Publicity of the Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim (GPRN) has strongly rejected the allegations made by Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) in its press statement dated June 5, 2026, describing the accusations as “fabricated, misleading, and devoid of credible evidence.”

In a rebuttal statement issued on Friday, the NSCN/GPRN said the allegations levelled by KIM were part of a recurring pattern of distortion and misinformation aimed at influencing public opinion and manipulating narratives surrounding the ongoing situation in the region.

The statement asserted that KIM’s repeated attempts to link the suffering of the dead and injured to unverified claims reflected what it termed a “cynical agenda” to exploit human tragedy for political purposes. According to the NSCN/GPRN, such actions neither contribute to truth nor help in creating conditions conducive to peace and reconciliation.

Rejecting the accusations in their entirety, the organization maintained that the claims were unsupported by any credible evidence and followed a familiar trend of manufacturing allegations for propaganda purposes. It further argued that similar practices had been exposed on numerous occasions, thereby undermining the credibility of those involved in spreading what it described as false narratives.

The NSCN/GPRN also condemned what it called the reckless dissemination of misinformation and urged Kuki Inpi Manipur and its affiliated groups to refrain from circulating unsubstantiated allegations. It warned that the repeated use of misinformation for political and strategic objectives was irresponsible and detrimental to efforts aimed at restoring normalcy and fostering meaningful dialogue among communities.

Calling upon the public, media organizations, and relevant authorities to exercise caution, the statement emphasized the importance of relying on verified facts established through impartial investigations rather than unverified allegations.

“Truth cannot be manufactured, and propaganda cannot substitute for evidence,” the statement said, adding that falsehoods do not become facts merely through repetition.
The NSCN/GPRN demanded an end to what it described as deceptive practices and urged all stakeholders to act with responsibility, integrity, and respect for the truth in addressing the complex issues confronting the region.

The rebuttal statement was issued by the Ministry of Information and Publicity, NSCN/GPRN.
