NRC will be implemented in Manipur

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh today said that the National Registration for Citizen (NRC) will be implemented to Manipur. While answering to a question by opposition MLA Khumukcham Joykishan, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said that the NRC will be implemented in the state after the Central government approves for its implementation however the schedule for the implementation is depended to the announcement of Central government.

Answering to supplementary question, N. Biren Singh said that a letter signed by him was sent to the Home Minister after discussing the matter at Cabinet informally. He however said that the base year will be decided in consultation with the people of the state after the Union government rectifies the NRC.

It may be mention that the Union Home Minister Amit Shah has announced that NRC will be implemented across the nation.
