The National People’s Youth Front (NPYF), the youth wing of the National People’s Party (NPP), Manipur State Unit, has claimed the induction of over 100 youths into the party as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 13th Manipur Legislative Assembly election.
According to the NPP Youth Wing, most of the newly inducted members are from Ukhrul, Kakching and Chandel districts. They were formally inducted during an Orientation-cum-Induction Programme held at the NPP Manipur State Unit office at Mercylane, Mantripukhri, Imphal, today.
The programme was organised by NPYF Manipur under the guidance of the NPP Manipur State Unit, with participation from the National People’s Women’s Front (NPWF).
During the orientation, party leaders briefed the new members on the history, objectives and vision of the NPP, its organisational structure and the responsibilities of party members. Discussions also focused on the prevailing situation in Manipur, challenges confronting the state and the role of youths in its development.
NPP National Vice President I. Hemochandra, Manipur State Unit President Dr Lorho S. Pfoze, Senior Vice President Dr Jilasan Sharma, General Secretary (Administration) Lakpachui Siro and NPYF Working President Vincent Pou attended the programme and interacted with the newly inducted members.
NPYF Manipur President Arnold Sanasam presided over the programme, welcomed the new members and presented them with party Lengyan.

He said the NPYF would continue to undertake programmes focused on public welfare and encourage greater youth participation in addressing the challenges confronting the state.
