Kachui Timothy Zimik, the Naga People’s Front (NPF) candidate for the Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency in the forthcoming 18th Lok Sabha election, emphasized the importance of scrutinizing candidates’ track records and footprints to gauge their commitment before casting votes. When queried by a journalist from Imphal Times about the credibility of his pledge to foster peace in Manipur, given similar assurances by other candidates, Zimik underscored the need for voters to discern genuine dedication amidst the rhetoric.
The NPF candidate, who enjoys support from the Bharatiya Janata Party and National Democratic Alliance, asserted, “Each candidate possesses distinct qualifications and capabilities. It is imperative for the public to delve into their track records and ascertain their contributions. Qualifications and experience should be thoroughly evaluated. It’s essential for voters to examine whether candidates align their promises with tangible actions evident in their background records. As I approach 65 years of age, I trust that my track record and contributions will instill confidence in the electorate.”
As he commenced his address to the media and a gathering of individuals from the Ching Tam Women Development Association, he articulated, “Should the public entrust me with the responsibility of representing them as a Member of Parliament, I shall spare no effort in striving to foster peace in Manipur. It’s crucial to recognize the diversity within Manipur, comprising the Meitei, Naga, Kuki, Meitei Pangal, and Gorkha communities. In our pursuit of peace, irrespective of community size, every group holds inherent rights that demand respect and mutual understanding.”
Expanding on his vision, he continued, “Initiating dialogues among all communities is paramount to achieving peace, paving the path for regional development. I am committed to earnestly pursuing this objective.” Expressing gratitude, the NPF candidate also commended and conveyed his joy to the Ching Tam Women Development Association for their endorsement in the forthcoming Lok Sabha Election.
The Naga People’s Front (NPF) had unanimously decided to nominate Kachui Timothy Zimik (IRS Rtd.) as its candidate for the Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency in the upcoming Lok Sabha election 2024. Timothy, a native of Sinakeithei Village nestled in the heart of Ukhrul District, commenced his professional odyssey by enlisting in the esteemed Indian Revenue Service (IRS) as an officer within the esteemed Income Tax Department in 1985. As the years unfurled, his dedication and acumen propelled him through the echelons of the service, ultimately culminating in his retirement as the esteemed Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax for the esteemed Government of India in 2022.
During today’s press conference, Timothy seized the opportunity to illuminate the amassed wealth of knowledge and expertise he garnered from his multifaceted experiences across India’s vibrant urban landscapes.
