Imphal July 20: Naga People’s Front (NPF) Manipur Unit, in a press statement released today rejects the contention of Gaikhangam, Deputy Chief Minister of Manipur during the ongoing Manipur Legislative Assembly’s session that the NPF statement was irrespoinsible or must have been made under pressure or outside influence.

General Secretary of NPF, Manipur Unit, Athuan Abonmai, said in the press statement that the NPF team lead by Soso Lorho, Ex-Minister and MP candidate and other Ex-Ministers/Ex-MLAs had visited and assessed the factual position at Ukhrul on July 7, 2014 and came to know that the imposition of CRPC Sec 144 coupled with the deployment of a large number of State Security Forces have clearly created a situation of chaos and disdain among the citizens vitiating the peaceful atmosphere in the area. The desire of the public is for immediate revocation of CRPC Sec 144 and withdrawal of the State Security Forces.
