The much talk about ‘resignation’ of the 4 Naga National Front (NPF) MLAs is now official after three among the MLA personally came to Manipur Legislative Assembly Secretariat today afternoon and tender their resignation letters to K Meghajit, Secretary, Manipur Legislative Assembly.
According to report three among the four NPF MLAs Nunglun Victor, Alexender Pao and Samuel Risom came to the state legislative Assembly at around 2.25 pm today and submitted the resignation letters of the 4 NPF MLAs including MLA Dikho’s at 2.30 pm exactly. Source from the state assembly said that no reason for the resignations was stated by any of the NPF MLAs.
News report appearing at some of the local dailies had earlier stated that the 4 NPF MLAs have tender resignation as they are not satisfied with the government after their voice has been ignored in the state assembly while raising objection to the passing of the three Bills relating to the introduction of ILPS in the state and also against the passing of the resolution moved against any attempt to distort the integrity of the state by the accord signed between the NSCN-IM and the Govt. of India.
On the day of the passing of the 3 govt. Bills relating to the introduction of the ILPS no NPF MLAs had raised objection to the Bills. The house unanimously passed the Bills. However, the NPF MLAs did raised some objection to the passing of the resolution move by the leader of the house to protect the integrity of the state.
