Imphal, Oct 11: Naga People Front (NPF) Manipur State Unit has appreciated the decision taken by Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh as right decision by not introducing the Manipur Regulation of Non-Local People Act, 2016 thereby honoring the will of the people.
Honreikhui Kashung said in a press statement that on August 23, 2016, the resigned MLAs of NPF had issued a statement against the introduction of the Regulation of Non-Local People Act, 2016 in the 16th Session of the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly in September, 2016. In this regards, NPF state Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh had taken the right decision by not introducing the Act, he added.
Honreikhui Kashung also said that NPF is the most concern party for the common good and collective progress in the State which humbly express the view as expressed on August 23, 2016 be taken into consideration and that the Hill Institution, Hill Authority under Law and Custom, then rights and privilege as granted and enjoyed under the Law and the Constitution by the Hill People shall be fringed upon in enacting new laws.
Honreikhui Kashung further said that the Registration Authority shall in no way downplay the Village Authority and Autonomous District Authority in the Hills.
