Normalcy disturbed during total shutdown call by rebel groups against the annexation of Manipur

Imphal: Normal life in the state was severely hit during the total shut down called by various rebel groups of the region against the annexation of Manipur to the Indian Union.
CORCOM – a conglomerate of RPF, UNLF, PREPAK and PREPAK (Pro) observed today as National Black day and called total shut down from midnight yesterday till 6 pm today.
Another three major rebel groups operating in the region Kanglei Yawaol Kanna Lup (KYKL), KCP (Noyon) and National Liberation Front of Twipra (NLFT), which is based at Tripura also called total shut down during the said hour resisting the annexation of both the state to the Indian Union.
Rebels in the region alleged merger of both Tripura and Manipur as forceful annexation and said that the annexation is the root of the armed conflict in the region.
During the total shut down called all entertainment houses were shut down, business centers were closed and commercial vehicles including the Manipur state Transport bus services remain off the road. Except for some private vehicles seen plying on the roads of Imphal, the city looks deserted as almost all shops were closed.
As the day coincided  with Sunday, Imphal looks total shut down with no life.
