Normalcy cripple in Manipur as anti-CAB protestors called total shutdown

Normal life in Imphal and other parts of the state has been severely affected due to total shut down called by MANPAC. Almost all streets of Imphal show less traffic flow as commercial transporters stay off the road. Except for some few shops almost all shops were seen closed since early morning. Even schools and colleges as well as private run offices and banks remain closed during the shutdown called. At Khwairanband Keithel large number of people staged a sit-in-protest in  Imphal .

Meanwhile AMSU protested in front of Kangla Main Gate against CAB. AMSU is a component of North East Students’ Organisation which called Manipur Total shut down on 10 December as a part of NESO North East wide  Total Shut down.

The 54 year old AMSU stood against illegal immigrants since 1980. First time in the history of MANIPUR AMSU launched a campaign against illegal immigrants. Two of the AMSU volunteer sacrifices their life for the future of the Manipur.

In 1980 AMSU,AMSCOC signed an agreement between the Government it clearly mentioned that

“The Foreigner must be identified on the basis of the census report 1951 and the National Register of Citizen 1951 and the village directory 1951”

In 2018, AMSU launched a campaign in Manipur  against CAB and submitted memorandum to Governor not to pass CAB.
