Forest, Environment and Climate Change Minister Awangbow Newmai today inaugurated Forest Division Complex Noney in the presence of. M.H. Khan, Additional Chief Secretary, Forest, Environment and Climate Change,. Kereilhouvi Angami PCCF and HoFF and Namsinrei Panmei, Chairman, Autonomous District Council, Tamenglong.
Awongbow Newmai express his happiness and gratitude to the Longmai (Noney) village authority for donating the land generously for constructing the Noney Forest Division Complex. He also thank the public of Noney for extending support and taking keen interest in various development project work taken up by the forest department in Noney District.
He also urged the villagers to take the maximum benefits from the God given forest nature and also request the villagers to give cooperation to the forest department in the various projects and schemes which is taking up now in Noney District.
While visiting the Bamboo Processing Centre at Khumji Village Shri. Awongbow stated that as bamboo is vastly available in the forest of Noney district this bamboo processing centre will serve and give various benefits to the villagers in an around of Noney district in uplifting their socio-economic condition. He request the villagers to take the maximum benefits from this machines.
Forest and environment minister also launch a Solid and Waste Management project today in Noney district, while launching he praise the youth, clubs, volunteers and social workers of Noney District for taking up this kind of initiative in managing the waste so as to make the town, forest and river clean. This kind of voluntarily service is the first of its kind in the hill district that has been taken up and I’m happy that this kind of positive work or service will be followed by many people in our society for developing healthy and environment friendly society added. Noney Forest Division Complex and the Barracks has been constructed at the total cost of ¹ 51 Lacs.
District Forest Officer Noney, Napoleon Rongmei MFS also make a power point presentation on the achievements of Noney Forest Division for the year 2020-2021.
Longmai nature club also made a power point presentation on the solid waste management.
