No Non-Local or Non-Manipuri Passengers to Board without Proper Documents or ID Proof

All Manipur Inter State Bus and Allied Transport Association (AMISBATA) appeals not to board any non-local or non-Manipuri from other states without any proper documents in Manipur and warns to take up stringent action if any persons fails to comply with the association.

Speaking to media persons at the office of the association, Longjam Bimol, General Secretary AMISBATA said that it is very unfortunate to witness large numbers of non-local and non-Manipuri entering in Manipur like a swarm of bees without proper documents or ID proof while various agitations carried out across Manipur demanding implementation of Inner Line Permit System (ILPS).

Bimol also said that the steps taken up by the police personnel at Mao gate preventing non-locals from entering without proper documents under the initiation of state government is a good initiative and has given a huge impact from inflowing of non-locals in Manipur.

Likewise, any divers or conductors of those vehicles transporting passengers and goods from one state to another without having any money temptation should not pick up any persons without verifying for proper ID proof and documents so that inflowing of non-indigenous people in our state can also be prevented from their side, he added.

Bimol further said that in any emergency case, if any non-locals happen to board the bus or any passenger’s vehicle without any proper documents or ID proof, the concern persons of the ticket counter or drivers or conductor should inform the association so that a proper steps can be taken up to unboard the passengers at the bus stand itself before nay unwanted incident happen on the way.

Appealing to the drivers and conductor not to board any non-local passengers from the way without any proper documents or ID proof, Bimol further said that the association will accept any steps taken up by the committee of ILPS and the people of the state if any activities of transporting non-locals are found in any vehicles registered or not registered with the association.

The association has been taking part and supporting the demands for implementation of ILPS in the state since the beginning and will continue, Bimol asserts.
