Principal Secretary greeted with anti-ILPS Bills protestors at Ccpur

The Principal Secretary of Manipur Government, SN Khan who visited Churachandpur has been greeted with anti-ILPS Bills protestors who demand judicial enquiry into the killing of “nine martyrs” in the district headquarters.
According to sources, the Principal Secretary arrived at the district headquarters today at around 10 in the morning. Soon after his arrival, around 200 protestors stormed at the official bungalow of DC, Churachandpur, where the visiting government officer hold meeting with district officials including DC and SP, Churachandpur.
Demanding to conduct judicial enquiry instead of magisterial enquiry into the killing of nine civilian protestors, who were allegedly killed by police during protests against the passing of 3 (three) ILPS bills in Churachandpur on August 31 and September 1, the protestors carry out a protest demonstration in front of the DC bungalow.
Holding placards, posters and hoardings the protestors raised various slogans.
When contacted, Additional SP of Churachandpur, David told Imphal Times that the protestors gathered at the bungalow as part of their routine protest demonstration. There were no incidents of gheraoing the Principal Secretary.
“The protest demonstration and presence of Principal Secretary is just a coincidence,” added the Additional SP.
Meanwhile, in respect of the departed souls of the nine protestors a gun salute was given by the people of Churachandpur today during a gathering at Public Ground near Community Old Campus, Churachandpur.
Convenor of JAC formed against the Churachandpur incident, Mangkhinkho and other members of the JAC were also present at the occasion. Besides, after paying the gun salute sit-in-protests were also staged at various places of Churachandpur area demanding withdrawal of ILP Bills.
