No case of COVID-19 in Manipur; Test result returns Negative

One person suspected of COVID-19 which landed at Imphal Airport on 6 March and put in the isolation ward of RIMS for observation and treatment turns out to be negative. The sample for the suspect was sent by RIMS to the State Level VRDL, Guwahati Medical College and the result which came out today returns negative for the suspect.
After the news of the suspect being put in isolation ward of RIMS went viral in social media, there has been an air of fear psychosis in the state with many buying Mask and Hand Sanitizers in bulk. Also, the prices for these masks and sanitizers have rocketed with it.
It may be mentioned that the Government had relaxed Bio-Metric attendance for some time taking in view of the prevailing situation. CM N Biren Singh had also appealed people to take precautionary measures during Yaoshang festival as the COVID-19 has the potential to spread from large public gathering.
With the advent of Yaoshang festival in the state, many are debating whether to join Manipuri traditional dance Thabal chongba or not. Also, there are instances of people dancing with hand gloves in the said Thabal Chongba.
