Ningol Chakouba’, the biggest festival of the Manipuris, was celebrated in a grand manner throughout Manipur today and yesterday. Various civil society organizations (CSOs) hosted grand feasts for the married women of various communities to commemorate the festival Ningol Chakouba, which is solely meant for the married women.
Indigenous Minority socio cultural organisation Manipur (IMSCOM), Indigenous minority organisation Manipur (IMOM), United peoples’ Front (UPF) Manipur, Haomee Research Guild Manipur (HRGM), National Identity Protection Council (NIPCO) and Manipur Peace and Integrity (MAPI) Council at Khunthonghanbi shanglen of the Thangmeiband DM University here at Saturday under the banner of ‘ Chingtam Ningol Chakouba. The Chingtam Ningol Chakouba celebration was attended by President Medum Maring, president, (IMOM), N. Rupachandra, president (UPF), Robin Shinglai Chairman, Hao Mee Research Guild Manipur (HRGM), Th. Manihar, president (NIPCO) and KC. Romeo President in charge, MAPI Council attended as presidium members. After the grand feast, simple gifts were also presented to the women.
