State government has exempted Ningol Chakouba Festival from the state holiday list or restricted holiday list of 2015. A source said that an official gazette released by the state government for the year 2015 has 27 restricted holidays including Tarpon houba, Tarpon Loiba, Heikru Hidongba, Muharam, Players’ Day etc. The state government gazette also declared 6 festivals as holiday including Saraswati Puja, Yaoshang, Death Anniversary of Maharaja Nara Singh, Kanglen, Mera Wayungba and Christmas Eve.
