NHM Employees Demand Regularisation of Contractual Staff

Chandel, Sept.16: A sit-in-protest was staged today demanding regularisation of the Contractual staff of National Health Mission, Manipur and formation of human resource policy for the staff at DC Lamkhai, Chandel today.
Non-regularise staff of Chandel district initiated the protest under the aegis of District All Manipur National Health Mission Employees Welfare Association (AMNEWA).
Speaking to media persons,Miss Premi Member AMNEWA said that a total of 2265 staff were recruited in NHM on contract basis and they have been discharging duty since 2006.
He pointed out that contractual staff of NHM in other States have been regularised. He also reiterated that the association had submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister, Health and Family Welfare Minister and other concerned authority on July 28 last pressing the demand.
The Government has not given any positive response till date prompting the association to stage the sit-in-protest, She said.
Placards reading “We are qualified enough to be regularised”, “Why other Departments but not NHM?”, “We deserve to be regularised”, “We demand a dedicated Mission Director from IAS cadre” ”We have crossed upper age limit for Government jobs”, “Sustain NHM staff IMR, MMR”, “Why is Government neglecting NHM staff”  etc were displayed at the protest site.
