Newly formed organisation warns govt. of indefinite general strike if weapons from Kuki community are not confiscated

A newly formed organisation called Ireipak ki Yeholmee Kanba Lup today warned the government of serious consequences if the armed and ammunitions provided to the Kuki Community if not recovered by October 14.

“We may have to use arm weapon to protect ourselves if the weapons provided to the Kuki are not confiscated”, a spokesperson of the newly formed organisation which is an apex body of over 30 different organisations said. He further said that those responsible for the destruction of the Ima Kondong Lairembi should be punished and the damage portion should also be reconstructed. He appealed the government to check newly settled Kuki community. The organisation will call indefinite General strike from Oct 14 morning if the demands are not fulfilled, he added.
