Newly constructed infrastructures inaugurated at RIMS

Prof. A. Santa Singh, Director of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal inaugurated newly constructed OPD counter, Public Kitchen and Public Lavatory of the Department of Psychiatry, RIMS, Imphal. During the inauguration, Prof. A. Santa Singh said that there were not enough basic facilities in the Department last so many years. But, now, under the initiative of the Department of Psychiatry, such basic facilities like OPD counter, public kitchen and public lavatory can be constructed in time and dedicated to the public. Such facilities will be immensely benefited to the patients. He also urged other departments to take more initiatives for the development of the institute. Prof. RK. Lenin Singh, head of department of Psychiatry stated that before 10 years only 20 to 30 patients used to visit Psychiatry OPD but it is increased to more than 100 patients per day. The present problem of congestion could be solved after the inauguration of new OPD counter. The newly constructed lavatory will solve earlier problem of public toilet facility in the department.
Prof. Ch. Arunkumar Singh, Medical Superintendent of RIMS Hospital, Principal, Dental College, faculty members, Deputy Director (Admn), Chief Accounts Officer, officials, staff and students were also present in the function.
