Natl Library Week concludes

The National Library Week (14–20 November) concluded at the South Asian Institute of Rural and Agricultural Management (SAIRAM), Langjing Achouba. Throughout the week, activities such as read-aloud sessions, book exhibitions and a drawing competition were organised to promote a vibrant reading culture among students. A large number of B.Sc. and M.Sc. Agriculture and Horticulture students participated enthusiastically.
During the closing function, M.Sc. students Ayam Kemrin, Ningthoujam Joshina and Khumbongmayum Priyadarshini were awarded Certificates of Merit for their outstanding involvement in programme coordination, event management and reading-promotion activities.
Director Professor H.S. Shekhar Sharma, who attended as Chief Guest, encouraged students to make full use of the library’s learning spaces designed to foster creativity and academic growth. Dr. L. Brojendra Singh, Faculty of Horticulture, described the week-long initiative as an effective step toward reconnecting the younger generation with libraries.
Library In-charge Sagolsem Lovely Devi extended gratitude to all participants and reaffirmed SAIRAM’s commitment to nurturing a strong reading culture.
