Natl. Cleanliness Day observed at Thoubal, Chandel, Kangpokpi

The National Cleanliness Day was also observed today in Thoubal district marking the birth anniversary celebration of Mahatma Gandhi.
Led by Deputy Commissioner, Ahanthem Subhash Singh, IAS, officials and staff of the district administration and line departments participated in the cleanliness drive. Cleanliness drive was held at the office premises and the surrounding areas of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office complex as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary.”Officer and staff of various departments including District Social Welfare Office, MSPDCL, Thoubal Division & NYK Thoubal conducted social work at Mini Secreteriat North Block. “Officers’ and staff of Thoubal PHE Division today conducted cleanliness drive of the office premises and also participated in oath taking ceremony while the District Supply Officer along with staff also conducted cleanliness drive in the morning.”It may be mentioned that the fortnightly programme of “Swachhta Hi Seva” 2023 culminates in the district today. The campaign was being observed under the theme “Garbage Free India”.
As part of the campaign children and adults alike participated in various cleanliness activities. Similarly, officers and staff of various line departments in the district also wholeheartedly participated in the fortnight long programme which was also observed in all the Wards’ and Gram Panchayats’ in the district.
In Chandel district, the Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of I&B, Field Office Chandel Imphal Region, Manipur organised ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ 9 years of seva, sushasan, Garib Kalyan, G-20 and Vigilance Awareness Week at Chandropoto village in Chandel district today.
M. Franky Chothe. Shri PR Simthar Chote, president PUSA, Shri Th. Gulapyaima and Shri. Kanwar Chothe Makan VLW, Chandel T.D Block were the moderator, Chief Guest, guest of honour, president and Resource persons respectively.
Facilitation of the dignitaries, welcome and keynote address was given by Mathew SK Bengam, FPA, CBC, FO, Chandel.
Speaking as a guest of honour Y. Isaac Chothe president of PUSA highlighted how ‘Swachhat Hi Seva’ should be properly implemented to every household of village and also spoke on G-20, and vigilance awareness week as well.
Chief Guest P.R Simthar Chothe thanked CBC, FO, Chandel for organising such programme and appreciated the central Government for taking up such various schemes and policies for the welfare of the rural citizens.
Resource person Kanwar Chothe Makan, VLW. TD, Block, Chandel stressed on the topics on Swachhata Hi Seva, Vigilance Awareness Week, 9years of seva sushasan, Garib kalyan, G-20 and vigilance. He said that from 15th September, 2023 to 2nd October 23 are observed as cleanliness drive all over the country. The dream of MK Gandhi is not only freedom but clean and pollution free country. He also highlighted the 10 main points of Swachhata Hi Seva with the theme garbage free India. He also urged the youths to take up initiative on Indian Swachhata League 2.0.
As part of the awareness campaign quiz competition was held and prizes were distributed to the winners.
Joining with the rest of country, the Deputy Commissioner, Senapati Mamoni Doley, IAS, led the National Cleanliness Day today in the district at Market area and Senapati River area. The District Administration of Kangpokpi also joined the nation in observing the National Cleanliness Day today.
The event in the Kangpokpi district was marked by cleanliness programme participated by all the officers/officials/staffs at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex, Kangpokpi district.
In remembrance of Mahatma Gandhi, the cleanliness drive was carried out from Viewland till Old Monday Market bridge by DLO’s and its staff, CEO/ ADC Senapati, Senapati Karong Town Area Committee and youth volunteers. It may be mentioned that cleanliness drive is also carried out at every Sub-Divisional blocks, health centres, educational institutions and villages.
The social services of cleanliness drive were participated by DLO’s and its staff, Police personnel’s, Senapati Karong Area Town Committee officials, Youth volunteers and villagers of the surrounding areas.
