Held at a city hotel in Imphal, the event drew enthusiastic participation. In his address, Dr. Radhesana referred to Chandrayaan-3, India’s lunar mission, as an inspirational achievement and said it has significantly contributed to popularising space science among students and young researchers. He added that applications of space technology have become increasingly essential in development sectors such as rural resource mapping, infrastructure planning, natural resource management, urban planning, agriculture, and disaster preparedness.
Dr. Radhesana also announced a unique opportunity for 100 meritorious science students from 16 districts of Manipur to participate in an exposure trip, aimed at broadening their knowledge of space applications. The trip will be jointly funded by the State Government and the Ministry of DoNER, with the state bearing 40 percent of the cost and the central ministry covering the remaining 60 percent.
