National Science Day observed on the concluding day of The 4-day Science Promotion Programme

The 4 -day awareness programme on promotion of science education amongst the youths in the rural areas inThoubal District, Manipur organised by the Minority Peoples and Rural Development Society (MPRDS), Sangaiyumpham with the support of the NCSTC Division, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India has been concluded yesterday at Lilong Haoreibi College Multipurpose Hall, Usoipokpi, Thoubal District, Manipur. The Closing Function cum Prize Distribution Ceremony was organized on yesterday to mark the observance of the National Science Day 2023 on the theme: ‘Global Science for Global Well-being’ which was conducted in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Lilong Haoreibi College.
Professor Ngangkham Nimai Singh of the Department of Physics, Manipur University, Associate Dean at the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Utlou Dr. Senjam Jinus and the Head of Department of Zoology at Lilong Haoreibi College Dr. L. Sanahanbi Devi were some of the eminent scientists who delivered lecture on different topics as the Resource Persons. Principal, Lilong Haoreibi College and Professor of Physics Dr. Md. Raheijuddin Sheikh presided over the function.
Science painting competition on the theme Global Science for Global Well-being, Ex tempore speech on science topics, Science Quiz competition and Science Model Making Competitions were some of the main attractions of the programme. The competitions were conducted as the final of the screening competitions held earlier in two different places in Thoubal Diastrict, Manipur.
Smart irrigation system, Automatic room lighting system, Door lock using password system, Smart Notice Board system, Smart Dustbin or Automatic Dustbin, Bluetooth car, Driverless car, Automatic gas leak detection, Telescope, Security alarm, etc. were the main displays of the science model making competition.
Kyamgei Ideal High School bagged most of the prizes in the science model making competition while Islamic Baby English school captured first positions at the Science Quiz and Painting Competitions. Wafana Begum of Islamic Baby English School, Kh. Seema Naobi of Lilong Haoreibi College and Shushani Begum of Bright Brain Institute Lilong capturedthe top three positions in the painting competition. Islamic Baby English School, Lilong Haoreibi College and Munira English School Sangaiyumphamstood the first, second and third places in the quiz competition. Samsida Banu, T. Merinda and Kh. Ashif were awarded prizes in the ex-tempore competition.
