District Legal Services Authority, Thoubal in collaboration with MASLSA under the aegis of NALSA Observed the National Legal Services Day on 9th November, 2021 through Jitsi Meet video conferencing.
Kh. Arunkumar Singh, Advocate, Vice President, Thoubal District Bar association gave a speech on the importance of functionaries of Legal Services Institution, PLVs and Panel lawyers in meeting the goal of access to justice for all in the district. He also praised the work done by the PLVs and Panel Lawyers during the year 2021 despite a raging COVID19 Pandemic and for working tirelessly.
A. Shanta Devi, Secretary, DLSA, Thoubal gave a brief mention of the various programme done by DLSA, Thoubal in the year 2021 and specially as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Pan India Awareness & Outreach Campaign (2nd October, 2021 – 14th November, 2021) and also thanked the PLVs and Panel Lawyers for their dedication.
A brief presentation was also given by Staffs of DLSA, Thoubal highlighting the achievements of DLSA, Thoubal during the year 2021.
Kh. Lembisana Meidingu, Remand Lawyer gave a speech as resource person on the topic “Roes and functions of Legal Service Institutions in the district” where she highlighted the importance of Legal Service Institutions more than ever in recent times.
Prizes were also distributed to the winners of the Quiz Competition on “Arrest, detention & its related provisions” held on 22nd October, 2021.
It was attended by the PLVs & Panel Lawyers of DLSA, Thoubal.
