Imphal, Sept 13: Amidst controversy over the land demarcation of Dzuko Valley between neighbouring Nagaland and Manipur, civil society organisations particularly the Southern Angami Students Union, SASU along with  13 Southern Angami villages had showed serious concern to keep the valley clean. Report reaching here said that the Southern Angami Students Union, SASU has conducted cleanliness drive at Dzükou Valley from September 8 to 10 with the theme ‘Viridescence.’
The drive is being conducted with an objective to keep Dzükou Valley clean and visitor friendly, SASU spokesperson was quoted as saying to AIR reporter.
With unprecedented number of trekkers and visitors coming to the valley year round, proper waste disposal has been arranged, the union informed, requesting the visitors and public in general to make proper use of the dustbins. The union also warned against any act that will tarnish the beauty of the valley such as plucking of flowers and cutting trees.
Mention may be made that 100s of tourist from the state of Manipur visited Dzuko Valley every year and as the route to the valley is not convenient from the side of Manipur, trekkers from Manipur have to start the journey the land of paradise from Nagaland side.
Even as Dzuko Valley is shared by both the Manipur and Nagaland, civil society from Manipur hardly gives hand to the good cause of the Southern Angami Students Union.
