Imphal, Sept 10:
Nagaland governor RN Ravi , who is also the Interlocutor for Naga Peace Talks representing the Government of India today convened official meeting with Working Committee (WC), Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) at Police Complex, Chumoukedima , Dimapur in Nagaland.
Highly placed sources informed that WC, NNPGs co-convenors and members led by its convenor, N. Kitovi Zhimomi attended the meeting.
Interestingly the meeting is held amidst speculations that the Centre and Naga Political Groups were likely to ink the final agreement to decades old Naga political issue anytime soon. Today’s meeting is the second official meeting between Ravi and NNPGs in nearly two months. The two negotiating parties last met on July 14, 2020 at Nagaland Commissioner’s Guest House, Dimapur.
At the July 14 meeting, sources informed that the negotiating parties chalked out the “action plan” for the impending final agreement. They also agreed to finalise the “draft agreement” for early settlement to the decades old Naga political issue.
Sources also disclosed that Ravi had insisted on “including minority tribes of Nagaland” in the peace process.
The sources also said that the Interlocutor had sought for “some time” so as to “work things out” with the other negotiating party—[NSCN (I-M)].
